Our lil' Teddy Aar-Bear

As most of you know Aaron has been sick. Initially I was sad for the poor guy, but I thought to myself ,he couldn't have better timing. You see, he got sick during church, so we all got to leave early (Michelle was already home sick, so I took the kids to church).

You may be asking yourself, "Why is Tyler Blogging about a simple case of the flu?" The answer is that it is not just a simple case of the flu. My children must have a certain gene that is attracted to the hospital. A simple case of a stomach virus turns my Aaron into a lifeless rag doll. Aaron went from a fun-loving cheerful boy to an emaciated skeleton boy in a matter of hours.

Having been through this once before, we knew how important it was to keep Aaron hydrated. Every 5 minutes he was given a teaspoonful of water. He could not hold anything down. Every so often, all the water he was given was coming back up. Our Doctor prescribed some medication that was ineffective, and had to switch to another. The second medication seemed to control his nausea, but by now he was too weak to hold his own head up.

We ended up staying the night at the hospital. Aaron was very brave when they gave him the IV, and drew the labs. He gradually regained his color, and replaced the "heroin look" with a puffy, swollen one.

We returned home today at 5:00, although Aaron is still fairly weak, he is laughing and joking like his old self.

Thanks to everyone who helped us get through this unnerving time. We are blessed to have so much family around to help.
